The Invention of Language

Can you imagine a world without language? It would make communicating extremely hard. There actually would be almost no communication. It’s hard to say when or how language was invented, but almost all living things use it, and if it wasn’t for language there would be many things that we have today that would not of ever been invented.
First of all, no one knows for sure when or how language was invented. If I had to guess I would say that the first animals to exist had their own language to communicate. Some say that due to evolution the humans developed a more sophisticated brain which caused them to invent language (“The Origin of Language”). In other words humans became smarter and decided that they needed to be able to communicate (“The Origin of Language”). In my opinion this theory is the most credible.
Secondly, I believe that almost all living things have their own way of communicating. If they couldn’t then why would they be able to make noises? I think the only living things that I think do not have the ability to communicate is plants. If they could I think scientists today would have figured it out by now. If it took humans to get smarter before we invented language, and animals do have there own language, then animals are smarter than we think.
Finally, the invention of language gave us many things that we have today. If we didn’t have language then books would have never been invented. The computer or the internet would have never been invented because computers have there own language that was created by humans, and if we never had our own language how would we have invented a language for a computer. Just about every invention would never have been invented.
On the other hand, language could be considered not the greatest invention because of its misuse. For example curse words, or lying. This has little effect in my opinion. The misuse of language can be dealt with. To me language is still the greatest invention of all time.
Language opened the door for almost all other inventions. Just think how different it would be without it. Nothing would be the same. We wouldn’t even be able to communicate with our own kind. Life wouldn’t be near as fun. The only good thing that would come from not having language would be that there wouldn’t be any school.
